In the past decade, Ocean Grand Holdings Limited ("Ocean Grand" or "OGH" or "the Group") has transformed itself from a medium-sized aluminium extruder into a listed group with 2 businesses, namely aluminium products and electroplating chemicals. During the period from 1998 to 2003, both our turnover and net profit have increased by more than 100%, and we have firmly established ourselves as a reputable industrial group in the market.

Our aluminium extrusion factory is one of the largest in China in terms of capacity. In the past few years, we have significantly enhanced our capabilities in providing high quality, high value-added products to our customers, and made inroads into the European, North American and Australian markets successfully. In particular, the Group is now a supplier of aluminium extrusion products to many reputable corporations and aluminium extruders all over the world. This development in the past two years proves that our products are competitive internationally, both in terms of pricing and quality.

Our electroplating chemical plant in Zhuhai, the PRC is one-of-its-kind in China. With its unparalleled capacity which utilizes state-of-the-art technology, we are in an enviable position to tap into the huge market for precious metal electroplating chemicals in the Pearl River Delta region. The business has grown to a considerable size and was spun-off for listing on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 30 June 2003. Daily management of our business is now in the capable hands of the executive management of Ocean Grand Chemicals Holdings Limited.

With the PRC becoming the "Factory of the World", the business environment will remain favourable to scalable enterprises with international competitiveness such as OGH. Taking advantage of the situation, I believe that the time is right for OGH to redirect its resources back to the aluminium industry. The Group is currently setting up a new factory with a capacity exceeding 100,000 tonnes per annum in Foshan, China. This new factory will be equipped with specialized machinery such as reverse extrusion press, conformed extrusion process, brite-dip line and others fabrication equipments which will add substantial impetus to the Group's capturing of the international markets. It is planned that the plant will be fully operational by the end of 2007.

OGH's mission is to become a "World-Class Aluminium Products Manufacturer in China". My colleagues and I will spare no effort in leading OGH towards this aim.
